Biography

Peng was appointed Head of Aviation Claims, Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), in November 2022. She is responsible for leading the claims proposition for LSM’s aviation business. Her appointment reflects LSM’s ambition and commitment to bringing unrivalled knowledge to the sector for the benefit of its clients.

Prior to LSM, Peng was a senior partner with Kennedys, a major international law firm where she was the Global Head of Aviation, specialising in complex, high-profile multi-jurisdictional claims. As a lawyer, Peng has extensive expertise in handling catastrophic aviation accidents and advising clients on crisis management issues having dealt with many aviation accidents in the Asia-Pacific region.

Peng began her legal career as part of the team advising insurers on the fatal accident involving Pan Am Flight 103 over Scotland. Since then, she has worked with many leading airlines, airport operators, ground-handling organisations and their insurers and reinsurers. 

Admitted to practice law in England and Wales and Malaysia, Peng’s extensive experience spans across Asia-Pacific to Europe and North America. In her role at LSM, Peng combines this unique breadth of international expertise to work closely with underwriters, claims colleagues, brokers, and clients. 

Peng’s clients have described her as a “very calm and measured adviser in a crisis, she is absolutely outstanding” with another client commenting that “She is very, very good at past case history and just is excellent at what she does. She gets good results and is well respected”. 

Peng is a contributor to the 4th edition of Margo on Aviation Insurance.  During her tenure in private practice, she received many accolades and recognitions including in leading publications such as Who’s Who Legal: Thought Leaders, Expert Guides, Best of the Best, Guide to the World’s Leading Aviation Lawyers, Legal 500 Asia Pacific and Chambers Asia Pacific.
